Mara Compagno received her degree in Medical Biotechnology, her Board Certification in Clinical Biochemistry and her PhD in Molecular Medicine (Specialization in Immunology and Cellular Biology) from the University of Torino. From 2004 to 2008 she did her research training with Prof. Riccardo Dalla Favera at the Columbia University in New York. From 2009 to 2010 she did her PosDoctoral training with Prof. Giorgio Inghirami at the University of Turin, Italy. In 2011 she joined the group of Prof. Roberto Chiarle in the Center for Experimental Research and Medical Studies (CeRMS), University of Torino, Italy. From January 2011 to June 2011 she visited as a Research Fellow the laboratory of Fred W. Alt at the Immune Disease Institute/Children’s Hospital, Boston. She is currently doing her Post-Doctoral research with Prof. Chiarle, at The Harvard medical School in Boston. Her research interests are focused on the comprehension of the molecular mechanisms that underlie chromosomal translocation formation through the generation of novel mouse models and high throughput genome wide approaches.
